Laredo, Tx. (www.tecolotes2laredos.com / Juan Alanís) 09 de enero.- Elegido como una entidad destacada en esta región fronteriza, el Club de Béisbol Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos se enorgullece en anunciar que ha sido invitado para participar como mariscal de los desfiles que organiza la Asociación para la Celebración del Cumpleaños de George Washington (WBCA, por sus siglas en inglés).
Bajo el lema de ‘Our Culture Unites Us’ (Nuestra Cultura Nos Une), los dos magnos eventos serán el ‘IBC Youth Parade Under the Stars’ y el ‘Anheuser-Busch Washington’s Birth Parade’, los cuales recorrerán las calles del sur de Laredo el jueves 21 y sábado 23 de febrero, respectivamente.
Celebrando 122 años del evento que festeja el natalicio de George Washington, primer Presidente de los Estados Unidos (1789-1797), esta festividad es de las más grandes en su tipo dentro de Estados Unidos, y en ella se puede disfrutar de carnavales, fuegos artificiales, conciertos y múltiples eventos para toda la familia.
De manos de James ‘Jay’ Puig, presidente de la WBCA, integrantes de la directiva del equipo emplumado recibieron un cuadro conmemorativo realizado por la artista Jennifer Ramos donde se puede apreciar el perfil de George Washington ilustrando el tradicional abrazo de la buena vecindad de las ciudades hermanas de Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas y Laredo, Texas, y las actividades que decoran esta festividad.
Según cifras oficiales, cerca de 500 mil personas asisten a tan importantes eventos, los cuales dejan una derrama estimada de 14 millones de dólares a la economía local.
Como dato a destacar, la Celebración del Cumpleaños de George Washington ha sido recientemente incluida dentro de los 100 mejores eventos en Estados Unidos, de acuerdo a la American Bus Association. Lo anterior debido al entretenimiento ofrecido a grupos de viajeros y turistas que llegan de distintas partes del mundo.
Bajo la dirección de don José Antonio Mansur, Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos día a día reafirma su compromiso con la comunidad de ambos Laredos, fomentando la unión y fraternidad a través del deporte.

Laredo, Tx. (www.tecolotes2laredos.com / Juan Alanís) January 9 .- Chosen as a prominent entity in this border region, Club de Béisbol Tecolotes de los Dos Laredos is proud to announce that has been invited to participate as 2019 Parade Marshal by the Washington Birthday Celebration Association.
Under the motto of ‘Our Culture Unites Us’, two great events will be: the ‘IBC Youth Parade Under the Stars’ and the ‘Anheuser-Busch Washington’s Birth Parade’, which will tour the streets of southern Laredo on Thursday, February 21 and Saturday, February 23, respectively.
Celebrating 122 years of the event that commemorates the birth of George Washington, first President of the United States (1789-1797), this festivity is one of the largest of its kind in the United States, where people can enjoy carnivals, fireworks, concerts and multiple events for the whole family.
From hands of James ‘Jay’ Puig, president of the WBCA, staff members of the feather team, received a commemorative painting made by artist Jennifer Ramos where Washington’s side face illustrates the traditional neighborliness of the sister cities of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and Laredo, Texas, and the activities that decorate this festivity.
According to official numbers, close to 500,000 people attend such important events, which leave an estimated of 14 million dollars to the local economy.
